Berry Picking!!

Well, the blackberries are ripe and ready for the picking!! So far I have 8 full 1-quart freezer bags full of berries and still more to pick. This years harvest is great and we will have fresh berries all winter long!! Isabelle will be so happy. :) My fingers though I think are permanently stained purple now though. hehehehe

What I learned...
Don't over fill the basket with berries... the ones on the botttom will get smooshed.

Our Front Yard... Yes, the whole of it and that is only the tinyest area. There are a ton now that are ripe. And more that will be ready in a day or so.

Picking the Berries...

THE PROCESS:
Pick the berries; wash them; place on cookie sheet apart from one another; freeze; take out and place in baggie and place back in freezer; REPEAT... hahaha

Isabelle loved eatting them as we were picking them... but sometimes I just went out on my own (got more done then while she was napping).

Fun Moments

Today we went blackberry picking on our property. Our basket was full after about an hour of walking slow and picking what we could reach without getting poked too much. It doesn't even look like we made a dent in the blackberries, and there are so many more that aren't even ripe yet. This year's harvest is amazing. I am freezing what I can and we will be eatting blackberry cobbler at Thanksgiving and Christmas. :) Isabelle tries to eat them as soon as I put them in the basket, she LOVES them!!!

I also started my Christmas shopping... I know, I know... But it was for Isabelle, and of course she found one of the gifts so we had to give it to her. It is a little piano... I will have to get video of her playing it. So cute.

Play Date 2

So glad the summer isn't over and doubly glad that I get to play with her. Even though our yard, front (with a big hole in it that we have now dedicated to be a burn pit till we can fix the drainage proble (that is another post)) and the back (a big dirt pile or mud pile if it rains) we can still get some fun at our neighbors place. The sprinklers were on, the slide and swings, and all sorts of other fun was ready when we arrived.

The above photo was totally by accident. We haven't started her training on 'thumbs up' yet, so this picture is perfect. She is soaked... mainly from just standing in the sprinkler, not running through it.

That yellow slide was just too big. So she found the little blue one. She could climb the ladder on that one no problem.

First swing was with mom... then I got my own.

Swing time was pretty short.

This was a fun day, of course, my camera got full mid-way through play date so my neighbor got hers out and got some more of the kids. Yes, I mostly posted my baby. There is a couple cute ones of Isabelle driving Easton's Jeep though... Of course that will get posted.

Beauty

We are starting to eat with the spoon, quite well I might add... though it gets frustrating at times when the peas roll off. But she is getting the hang of the spoon thing. However, sometimes the spoon gets laid down and the hands get to work... way easier to shovel in the food.

Here is a new one that I learned.... Even if the shoe fits it may be the wrong size. I went to get her a pair of tennis shoes and well, when she got her foot measured, she was a 5 1/2 -- 6 size shoe and well, I had her in 4's. Needless to say, we got some bigger shoes all around and she loves her tenny's... She decided one day that was all she wanted to wear.

She is growing up so fast! Seriously... Where does the time go? We always heard our parents saying that... I guess there is truth to it, the time goes and goes. It is so hard to hold onto our precious babies. They grow up.

It's September

School is back and Yes I am working everyother day again this year and LOVING IT!!!! One day of work (with awesome kids so far this year) and one day of play. So glad that the summer weather is still around and staying for a whole. Isabelle and I went to pick black berries this morning, but they are not ready yet, so after we each tasted one and made the sour face, we just went for a walk around the property instead. We can't believe how fast she is growing. She can climb up and down the furnature all on her own now, eats anything in site, and she is talking a ton. Of course, not much is understood, but she gets a new word each day... 'keys' is the newest.
